Weary Traveller"Weary traveler, beware",  
      Croaked an ancient voice haltingly. The startled young man jumped & turned, spying a bent figure swathed in discoloured rags, huddled at the base of a gnarled oak tree. He walked back a ways, to the figure. A crone, he saw, rocking and muttering to herself.  
"Is something amiss, old mother?" he asked. Piercing grey eyes deeply and heavy lidded, held his murky browns captive in a blank stare for many a heartbeat. The crone made a strange gargling sound. Insane laughter.  
"Calm your youth and chase not dreams." Unnerved but determined, he let her be.
